Welcome to J Steppin’ 4 Autism, where raising awareness and promoting acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum is at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about me and my journey.
This organization was born out of love, hope, and a desire to create a community where families feel supported, voices are heard, and every individual with autism is celebrated for their unique strengths. Together, we can foster understanding, inclusion, and belonging — one step at a time
Allow Me to Introduce Myself!
I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a toddler. As a baby, I appeared to grow and develop very quickly. I even sat up on my own unusually early — which surprised my mommy a little! Not long after, I began taking steps and was walking independently sooner than expected. I was active, curious, and I loved to babble and “talk” all the time.
As I grew, my parents began to notice differences in how I responded and communicated. After sharing their concerns with my doctor, we were guided through evaluations that helped my family better understand how I experience the world and what supports would help me thrive.
Since then, I have continued to make meaningful progress on this journey. With therapy, support, and lots of love, I keep growing in my own way and at my own pace. My family and I have learned different ways to communicate, and I use tools that help me express my needs and connect with others at home and at school.
I really enjoy watching the news (yes, the news!), and I absolutely love numbers, especially hearing them in different languages. Letters, music, and bouncing on my yoga ball bring me so much joy!
At school, I’m learning so much and my teachers are so patient and kind. They want to see me do my best which makes my parents happy. My peers are nice and understand that I communicate differently.
Now that you know a little more about me, I want to formally welcome you to J Steppin' 4 Autism, a charity organization that my mom started. We are committed to raising awareness and educating our community about autism, while promoting understanding and acceptance for all individuals on the spectrum. We invite you to participate in our annual fun walk in April and Jaxson's Give the Gift of Play, a Christmas toy drive, where we collect brand new toys to benefit children with autism.
