Step Up in Red, Shine in Gold - Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month

Promoting acceptance, inclusion, and celebrating the unique strengths of children on the autism spectrum

Step Up in Red, Shine in Gold is a new initiative by J Steppin' 4 Autism created to celebrate Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month and promote a culture of inclusion and understanding. On April 8th, we invite individuals, families, schools, and businesses to wear red or gold as a symbol of acceptance and recognition of the unique strengths and talents of individuals on the autism spectrum.

By participating, you help spark conversations, raise awareness, and show support for children and families impacted by autism. Share a photo wearing red or gold on social media using #StepUpInRedShineInGold and #JSteppin4Autism to help spread the message of acceptance throughout our community.

Supporters are also encouraged to make a suggested $5 donation to J Steppin’ 4 Autism. Your generosity helps fund programs, resources, and events that benefit children on the autism spectrum and their families.

Wear Blue – April 2nd: World Autism Awareness Day

World Autism Awareness Day is observed every year on April 2nd to increase understanding of autism and promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals on the autism spectrum. First designated by the United Nations in 2007, this day encourages people worldwide to recognize the strengths, talents, and unique perspectives of those with autism.

Wearing blue is a global symbol of support for autism awareness. By participating, you help raise visibility, educate your community, and celebrate the contributions of individuals on the autism spectrum.

Fun fact: Over 70 countries participate in World Autism Awareness Day each year, and iconic landmarks around the world “Light It Up Blue” to show solidarity.

So wear blue and share a selfie on social media using #JSteppin4Autism to help spread awareness and inspire others to join. Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to participate so we can increase understanding, foster acceptance, and celebrate the unique strengths of every individual on the autism spectrum.
